About the Role

The Pipeline Integrity Technician I is an entry-level field position that supports pipeline integrity, maintenance, excavation, coating, and construction activities on pipeline and facility projects. This role performs manual labor and assists higher-level crew members with jobsite setup, material handling, surface preparation, coating support, cleaning, excavation support, tool operation, and general field duties. This position is best suited for someone who is dependable, safety-focused, willing to learn, and able to work outdoors in changing conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties in support of pipeline integrity and maintenance projects.
• Assist with excavation, backfilling, shoveling, hand digging, potholing, and site cleanup.
• Conduct air monitoring with 4-5 channel gas detection devise.
• Support coating, wrapping, surface preparation, and material application activities as directed.
• Load, unload, move, and stage tools, materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with traffic control, barricades, work zone setup, and jobsite housekeeping.
• Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Assist operators, technicians, foremen, inspectors, and other crew members as needed.
• Help maintain equipment, tools, and vehicles in clean and working order.
• Follow company safety policies, client requirements, and site-specific procedures at all times.
• Participate in daily job briefings, safety meetings, and hazard assessments.
• Document basic field information, timesheets, and assigned daily work activities as required.
• Travel to project sites and stay away from home for extended durations when required.
• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Prior construction, pipeline, coating, excavation, or labor experience preferred but not required.

  • Ability to learn field procedures, safety expectations, and equipment handling.

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding work.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew.

  • Valid driver’s license Required.

  • Must be able to pass any required pre-employment screenings, drug and alcohol, fit-for-duty requirements, and client site requirements.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly, and more with assistance.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, shovel, and work with hands for extended periods.

  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, mud, uneven terrain, and remote locations.

  • Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, FR clothing, high-visibility clothing, fall protection equipment and respiratory protection when required.

  • Ability to work from heights when required.
